enbar says: Peculiar ... a statement by a Tibetan lineage head explaining the circumstances surrounding his recognition of Steven Segal as a tulku, i.e. a reincarnation of 17th-century Tibetan "hidden treasure revealer" Chungdrag Dorje. Boy, Buddhism is sure scraping the bottom of the barrel. Oh come on ... what have you got against Steven Segal? Seriously, that's what I thought at first too, but I think this is legitimate. I do know Segal has been a serious, practicing Buddhist for a very long time, though not in a public and flashy way like Richard Gere. For a practicing Buddhist, he's got a reputation as an egotistical jerk. Hmmm ... I did not know that. *grin* Google "Steven Seagal jerk" and see what comes up. all the above people who hve commented....i think if u r not buddhist thn u wont understand, so it is not appropaite to comment on other religio n thier beleif.... n to comment on such a great n englightened being such as H.H Penor Rinpoche is a sinful n very unexceptable behaviour of hunambeing if u r one. it is not appropaite to comment on other religio n thier beleifWe're not commenting on the religion or its beliefs. We're commenting on Steven Segal being an egotistical jerk. And even so, the Dalai Lama himself has no issue with others examining his faith. Any religion worthwhile can stand up to scrutiny. Why is it "inappropriate"? Please. Give me a break. If that's what you think, then you might want to stay away from the Internet. You'll find a lot of commenting on religion here. |
