Here's the Global Incident Map. Shows where in the world bad stuff has been happening.

My nephew-in-law is a lieutenant-colonel in the US Army. He is stationed outside of Washington and his specialty is chemical/biological warfare. He is heading out for Iraq this month. He has said many times that if the average American citizen knew about all that has been found concerning this very issue...they would be very, very afraid.

Call me duped. Call me ignorant. Call me an alarmist. I believe him. He deals with the intelligence. I don't and neither does the media.

It is quite apparent to me that not only are most unaware of the dangers, most are unwilling to become aware.

Wanna know something weird? When I first saw this clip, the peculiarities of my display made it look like this:
Homeland Security Authorities Fear Cher
I was like, damn straight, I fear her too.

But ... sadly ... this is more serious than that... frightening stuff.

Much ado about nothing...considering how such an attack would actually occurred and what civilians could do about, which would be zilch...nada...zero....

Come on ratilfar, don't you fear Cher?

Her...oh Hell yeah! I fear that she will team up with Paris Hilton, Rosie O'Donnell and the producers of American Idol and create the Axis of the Infamously Stupid Celebrities!

Good points in both of your posts, ratilfar. Once the attack happened, there would be absolutely nothing to be done. Which is why it's so important to do everything in our power to be aware and prevent such an event....as much as is humanly possible.

Concerning 'cher'...Enbar, was that a Freudian slip? Cher's personal life, (as we know it), would seem to make her a candidate for ratilfar's AISC. That being said, I loved the Sonny & Cher Show from...hmmm...the 70's?

Can you really blame them? How often each day do they hear that this is an illegal war started by GW for personal reasons and that terrorism is a law and order problem, not a military problem? Kinda hard to fear the threats posed by your enemy under such circumstances, isn't it?

Articles like these are merely "duck and cover " documents (or maybe "chicken little" propaganda?). The realities. Besides, such bombs are hardly effective, they do make some people sick, most of its casualties are a direct result from the explosions (just like any other bomb). Its the fear they produce that needs to be dealt with. Good first responders and civic defense plans are the best defense. Even armies with long experience in the development and use of such weapons have found them to be hard to use and unpredictable. For chemical weapons to be truly effective you need a continuous attack by large quantities of persistent and non persistent agents, under favorable weather conditions ...
