The Wisconsin State Journal's Ajuman Ali takes on the idea that lying about Obama's faith represents a 'smear.' The idea that a Muslim isn't fit for the presidency is bigoted and stupid -- and it's an idea that all the candidates should attack.

If being a Muslim isn't so bad, then how is calling him one a "smear?"

If someone were to call me a Christian and NOT vote for me based on that faith I wouldn't call that a smear. More, I'd be happy to lose that vote.

It's only a derogatory comment to people who don't like Muslims, right?
