I really hope this church gets the full punishment. It is totally disgusting what they do at these soldiers' funerals. If that's their message, then fine. But why do they have to bumrush people's last sacred moments!

Because their belief gives them a false sense of superiority and because they feel justified in what they are doing because to them they have the backing of god. It is a failing of religion - it allows you to view others as inferior and in its most worse instances (the Phelps as example) it allows you to think that nothing you do to those inferior people is wrong.

The Phelps are indeed the embodiment of the worst of the worst (setting aside such radicals as suicide bombers). Their twisted, narrow view gives power to their arrogance since they are on a mission. You've hit it perfectly right, Oortcloud.

Uh...OK? But no thanks. Believe it or not there is a sizable number of people that don't share your religious views but you do have the right to advertise for your particular mythology if you wish.

By any stretch of the imagination it is only tangentially related to the clip and the comments that followed. If he didn't include the plug for his particular brand of myth at the end it would have been more meaningful.
