For those of you who are gardeners, you know the benefits of having a diverse population of insects in your yard. Encouraging beneficials into your garden also helps eliminate the need for chemical pesticides. Giving the beneficials a place to stay helps ensure you will have plenty of protection against those ‘other’ bugs that like to eat up all your hard work.

Don’t worry about attracting wasps, yellow-jackets or hornets, they build their own nests and will leave this one alone. This is more for the over 3,500 species of solitary bees http://www.attra.org/attra-pub/nativebee.html . Without these bees we would not have seed set or fruit formation. So, please, do what you can to help.

Here’s where the plans are: http://www.instructables.com/id/Beneficial-Bug-Houses/
