The other side of it, of course, is the feeling many agnostics or atheists have that those of a religious bent bury their heads in the sand to the obvious because it doesn't and cannot fit their constrained construct of the world around them, as their faith demands it must.

Faith means never fearing questions. For a person of faith to act as you suggest would be an act of faithlessness.
All Christians I know embrace science, enjoy science, are fascinated by science, and seek to preserve science. There is nothing science will ever understand that will change or contradict my faith.
On the other hand materialists continue to diminish in numbers thanks to the work of scientists that do not base their science in materialist ideology.

Hey Willhelm, how old is the Earth? What does the Bible say? (6000 years) What does science say? (4.5 billion years) discrepancies? hrmmm.

So, is the Bible 100% the literal word of God? Or are you saying it's basically the word of God and you'll pick and choose which parts you believe are true? That's either blasphemy or hubris, your choice.

I suspect neither of you are very well educated in science, philosophy, theology, or global warming for that matter.
I am very well aware of the issues on all sides of the issues you bring up. It seems to me you both are not. Pity.
