Plenty of room for candidates of worth. Palin will be heading the wagons across Canada in 12 months to be there to accept the nomination. The Dems were dying at one point. The GOP was very successful for many years using a certain ideological frame, it is not at all surprising that they would adhere more strongly to it even when that frame no longer fits the circumstances. I am a Liberatarian. The GOP is not dead. It lives under a confused banner of RINO's and die hard Conservatives. Get rid of the RINO's who are Liberals in actual fact and the GOP would spring back and overwhelm a completely impotent Democrat party. The Hatred displayed hear sounds the Deguella for the Democrat party. Such hatred must consume it as it is doing now. 'The Muslim' does not fare well in the polls, Congres less so and the Dem party is trashed by the likes of Dodd Geithner and other Tax Cheats and Frauds who say one thing, like Dodd and actually do anoher, like Dodd. No the GOP is not dead nor is it fully awake and ... The death of GOP is about as likely to happen as a liberal not endorsing candidates who like to feel your pain, grope your daughter, drop their trousers, and drive their dates off a bridge. Everybody already knows that neither will happen, as hopeful as it might seem. The GOP is in fact dead, deader than a door nail, regardless of clipons meandering walk through the past. I have yet to see the pasty grey haired WASPs of the former majority embrace any other ethnicity without grimacing.
