Remember Musharreff was installed by (CIA assisted) coupe in 1999, and recently declared Martial Law, which was just lifted. Pakistan's WMD is real, but it is there country, and they are no threat. But it is filled with Islamics very angry at the U.S. for meddling in their country (the coupe) and want to get it back from Musharreff. The U.S. has no sovereign authority to invade another country or make another pre-emptive move. But blow-back could be a real threat for all that the U.S. has provoked over there.
