"I am a terrorist," Waagner declared on the Army of God's web site. Boasting that God "freed me to make war on his enemy," he claimed he knew where 42 Planned Parenthood workers lived. "It doesn't matter to me if you're a nurse, receptionist, bookkeeper, or janitor, if you work for the murderous abortionist, I'm going to kill you."

There's a tremendous amount of crime going on on the streets of any country daily. Reporting all of it is impossible, even though the local news is mostly about where there was a fire, who got killed where locally etc.

One could argue that this lunatic was a terrorist (AFAIC - he certainly was), but it's comparing apples to oranges to compare this with islamofascist terrorism, in terms of its scale, impact on the country etc.

As for muslims getting too much attention... considering the fact that vast majority of terrorist attacks against America as a country was perpetrated by muslims - it's nothing surprising. Russians aren't shown in the same context for one reason - they don't kill Americans.

A terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist, but of course its always easier to whip up hate/fear for the "OTHER"

In short xenophobia is a mighty weapon, and its easy to manipulate.

It has nothing to do with 'whipping up' anything. The mistake Clinton made was treating terrorism against the country as a criminal act, with disasterous results. There's definitely a difference between a lone lunatic (like mcveigh, unibomber etc.) and bin laden and his ilk. Not a stretch to figure this out... provided one wants to figure it out, of course.

Ah, the Iraq quagmire is also Clinton's fault isn't it?

also, love how Record Sage is absolutely, completely blind to the fact that anti-abortion fanatics are terrorists too, and fails to address the issue at hand, instead going back to talking about Islamic terrorism.

I'm sure he/she doesn't even think of it as a crime.

don't be so sure, lonely_planet... cause you're wrong.

I do consider anti-abortion fanatics (although I prefer to call them lunatics) terrorists, but I do differentiate between them and al qaeda. I'm completely and totally against the anti-abortion terrorists, always was and always will be.

I think articles like the one invictus clipped muddy the water a bit. They're meant to use logic (i.e. these people are terrorists too) to get away from the islamic attack on the US, like one had anything to do with the other.

For your Clinton reference - of course I don't blame Clinton for what's happening in Iraq right now - he had nothing to do with the Iraq war... however, I most definitely blame...
