Rasmus says: Why nude recreation? Because some people are exhibitionists and crave attention. Otherwise they would just be nude and enjoy themselves. But no! They want to be *viewed* and/or shock the senses of society and morality. That's their thrill. This summer I took my little ones for a walk on our local beach... a quiet, insignificant place. Certain young women (I refrain from the word 'ladies') seemed to think it was very humorous to reveal (dare I say revel) their lack of habitions. That's too funny. Recreation, they say? When's the last time you saw the 100 meter dash sans clothing? How about the hurdles? No? Hmmm.. . well there is a good reason and it's called discomfort and pain. Running and jumping around without supporting certain body parts can be downright painful. That's what clothes are for- Not just to cover up those of us who are not quite as comfy with our outward appearance, but to support those parts of our bodies as well. Just a few miles from my house a new clothing optional adults only campground started. A few miles from where I used to live there was a nudist camp. I don't get it but there are plenty of people who do and it sure seems that there is money in it for someone. But no! They want to be *viewed* and/or shock the senses of society and morality. That's their thrill. --jatflaI think the shock value is on the receiving end. Did you ever enjoy a fresh or mellow breeze fondling your bare body all over? The warmth of the sun, the bracing prickle of the rain, the snugglingly smooth grass, moss or sand you rested on? And did you ever share these pleasures with other people? If not, you will hardly be able to understand the innocence of these feelings. Have you ever been allowed to be a child? If not, you will suspect those wholistic, childlikely innocuous pleasures of immorality. If somebody covers their body to any extent whatsoever (and even cloaks their body's shape as far as possible), and does so to intents and purposes other than to protect the body against sun, cold, wind or for othe... Johanna_G has it right on the money. I never understood it either, until I felt the sun caress my spirit as it wrapped my entire body, something clothing precludes. Nude ≠ Lewd. There is no shock value, as jatfla states, when the destination is declared a clothing optional zone; nor is there knee-jerk shame when all about are equally children of the sun, for they understand what those who judge do not. Oh rubbish, they just want to look at each others' bits. did anyone else see the photo from the source site? buck-naked at a theme park riding the Nemesis Inferno with the mellow breeze fondling your bare bodywould be too much breeze for me, but I see no problem with delcared clothing-optional zones Nudity is not our birthright! *LOL* Hey, it's American to be more at home with your gun, car, computer and nuclear weapon than your own body. I know I'm being silly, but rape, racism and paying taxes for war are obscene. Naked bodies and making love is not. rape, racism and paying taxes for war are obscene. Naked bodies and making love is not. --debbyskiUnfortunately, for our conservative friends, it is the total opposite. people who opted for less clothing are just more sensitive to the heat and feel more comfortable with less clothing. note: there seems to be a connection between stimulants and feeling hot. increase stimulants = increase heat connection between stimulants and feeling hotYeah, sidegik, that might be so. Speaking of me, the grade of stimulation (of my neuro-hormonal system) seems to be not plainly proportional to the grade of disrobement (of well-formed fellow human beings). I must confess that a lady, wearing an ankle-length dress, under certain conditions attracks my (gentleman-beseeming) interest more than a lady, who lavishs her skin more generously on me... That's why there's no danger of extreme heat for me nor for others when I visit a shared sauna, for example. If god had meant people to be naked we would have been born that way!!!! Um... er... well... On the other hand: If god had meant people to be naked we would have been bornwith the genetic trait of fur-bearing animals, at least with a better shielded anatomy. |
