Credit cards are evil. They suck you in with promises of all the things you'll be able to buy when you're broke, low interest payments and other tempting promises. Hit your limit, they increase your spending limit without telling you first, and you keep spending because you'll be declined once your limit is hit. Then you get the bill, OH, MY, GOD! How did I charge up a few thousand? Miss or make one payment big enough and the nasty phone calls start. Oh yes, they are evil. I agree. Viewing credit cards as bad things is a very reasonable thing to do. Someone will say that without credit we would not have the booming economy we have. Perhaps that is so and perhaps we would have a lot less real weapons of mass destruction in the world, a lot less pollution, and the incredible income disparity would be impossible! A preacher preaching end times. Hummm. Hasn't that been going on for a couple thousand years already? Let's hope it doesn't turn into another Waco, Texas. Before credit cards, people saved to buy what they wanted. I've heard stories about older people who, in their youth, scrimped and saved for major purchases and used credit to only buy a house or land. Instant gratification is a trap. AcesLucky, I don't believe this group in Russia is armed. They just want to be left alone. @wiccantexan It would seem the easy choice. After all, May will be here very soon, and that will answer any "end of the world" prophesies. And there's no harm in that. After all, they teach it here too, albeit with a longer fuse. |
