Some irony. (You probably know that it is) Poppy Day today, also called Remembrance Day. This day is to do with the First World War. The same fields of France felt the blood of soldiers and civilians just 21 years later.
Humans are crap when it comes to learning from history.

We don't seem to learn from history as much as from experience.

Cause and effect does, though, sometimes stick in our heads. If we can get Bush on trial for war crimes that will probably be something American history will remember, and perhaps draw a lesson from.
