Wikipedia:

The Ouroboros, also spelled Ourorboros, Oroborus, UroborosUroborus (pronounced /ˌjʊəroʊˈbɒrəs/ or /ʊˈrɒbɔrɔs/), is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail and forming a circle. It has been used to represent many things over the ages, but it most generally symbolizes ideas of cyclicality, unity, or infinity. Actually, it does make a really good tattoo. Check out my mog profile mog.com/tmtx . That's on my shoulder blade. I would've just added it here as a picture but I don't have a good photo with me at work.

As an addendum it has also been called Jormungandr by the Norse as the world dragon that will fight Loki. The version I chose was an alchemical design of infinity.
