I live in the Seafood Capital of Alabama. I love shrimp. But I also love God, and I try to live by his word. I'm really going to have to read more about this. This is all very interesting, disturbing, but interesting. RSV

Flapdoodle! God loves all creation.
It's the idiot who wrote this Bible passage who is an abomination!

I wonder what the word "abomination" meant back in those days. Meanings of words seem to change with the passing of time. Or maybe he meant "a bomb in nation" if you steal fish from Muslim seas without weighing them first...

Is there a difference in human biology between ocean feeders and land feeders?
Have you ever seen fish flavored baby food?

Don't do it. Believers must not actually READ the texts or they will risk losing their faith! Knowledge is to Religion like salt is to a snail.

Believers just pick n choose the lines they want , trying hard to forget , or explain away ones that don't fit their agenda....it's pretty sad.

If it's GOD'S WORD.......then it's ALL GOD''S words!

Of course, god is imaginary....so the whole thing smacks of never-ending lunacy

God loathes blockheadedness. Blockheadedness entombs what is created at His will: the brain. Hence blockheadedness is an abomination in the face of the Lord, and thou shalt not be blockheaded.

Maybe it means he's just not a seafood lover. He loves to savor the smell of burnt carcass, as there is a burnt offering for just about everything.

But nowhere is there anything about burning things from the sea. Maybe the smell reminds him of something?

It's his prerogative, ain't it?

And you shouldn't cook a kid (goat) in its mother's milk, either.

See? Makes perfectly good sense now that you think about it, doesn't it?

Now I know why Catholics don't read the bible!

"And you shouldn't cook a kid (goat) in its mother's milk, either."

There is a nice Jewish joke about the dialogue between JHWH and Moses concerning this forbiddance. That quip's bottom line is that Moses misunderstood the Lord because he (Moses) was a blockhead, which made the enervated lawgiver say, "Have it your own way!"

I love Jewish wit!

godhates? isn't that like an oxymoron or something? a paradox? I thought God loves us all....but then again....godhates was put together by some miscreant zealot who found him/herself something to cry and get wild about.

Psychopaths will tell you they love you as well, just before slipping a knife into your rib cage without changing their smile. Again, unless you want to give up your belief, don't read the bible to learn if god really is all about love. Actions speak louder than words.

I worked shrimp boats in my younger days out of Key West and Stock Island and, yea, I'm friggin' guilty. Shrimp Rule!

Y'know, folks seem to have realized since forever that kosher Jews don't eat pork, but I guess many people haven't known they also don't eat shellfish (because of that biblical passage) or catfish (also bottom feeders) or milk with meat in the same meal (that's the "lamb in its mother's milk" thing).

Seems to me this guy's point is that selectively picking from the bible to say God Hates Gays makes about as much sense as saying God Hates Shrimp. (And yes, many Jews don't follow kosher laws and yes, I love shrimp! No problems with gays either.)

milk with meat in the same meal (that's the "lamb in its mother's milk" thing).
Just out of curiosity, would cow's milk with rack of lamb be ok together? Or a hamburger with goat's milk? Just curious on the distinction.

It's okay only if you're not wearing clothes woven of deferent material. That pisses the big guy off too, so the good book says.

Any milk product in same meal with any meat product. No cheeseburgers; no meat lasagna; no ice cream after your steak.
