Pain=guilt? Sounds about right to me. Just like back in the old days, if they thought you were a witch they'd slap you in deep water. If you drowned to death, you were innocent. If you floated and lived. they would burn you to death. I think that I would take the drowning "option". But I would be dead either way. Oh well.
