I've never really given much thought to how flawed Techorati's ranking system is, this post sheds some light on it for me. I think that although Technorati's overall blog ranking system has its flaws, the Techmeme Leaderboard will be a great addition but still does not try to put the greater blogosphere in order.

The top sites are important and they should be recognized and ranked appropriately. But what about the rest of us millions of bloggers who fall somewhere towards the top or somewhere in the middle? Technorati is still the central place that puts the blogosphere in perspective. Even if it's a somewhat flawed perspective.
