egoldstein says: No doubt a direct shot at the U.S. This is crazy. What can we do about it? nothing we owe them billions of dollars in loans, and our army is overstretched and weak. They know it's a prime time to push our buttons. Here's a couple of quotes about the subject from another news article (click here). We want to preserve our right to do the space war testing, but don't want others to do the same. My understanding is that any kind of war involving space would seal us into this planet for a very long time, as debris from the war would be circling the earth as an impenetrable barrier. =========================================== "The Bush administration has long resisted a global treaty banning such tests because it says it needs freedom of action in space." "Arms control experts called the ... I wouldnt sweat it, If their tests are like ours It was all carefully choreographed . Wasn't this the plot of a Bond movie? No one can stay on top for ever, as the US claim it once others will do, and the futures' tongue language is Chinese. But did the US give the world a good example of how to behave when on top of the world .....? I don't think so. we should become allies with the china, they get the eastern hemisphere well take the west. Whammie. But did the US give the world a good example of how to behave when on top of the world .....? I don't think so.Pwatcher...name a superpower that's done better. Yeah, we screw up from time to time, but overall I think we've done an admirable job of not blowing the whole damned place up What an overgeneralized cheap shot! I'm getting damned sick of the rest of the world gladly using our protection while they kick us in the mouth! China's misuse and/or diminishing natural resources will force them to invade a country or countries in the very near future. Evidence suggests that they are already preparing for it (military build up, and now this news). I'm afraid that World War III will happen soon. This is my prediction. Yikes... what crazy times we're living. So China was 1 for 4, big deal. I wonder how man tries it took US. Sure it's fine they showed that capability, but its not going to happen regularly. Think about it, how would the ships freight their goods here without orbiting satellites. Did anyone else appreciate the take that Japan expressed? There has got to be peace in space. We barely afford military budget on earth, much less space. Too risky and could cause issues worse than global warming. name a superpower that's done better.None... including the mighty US and most likely the Chinese era will be much worse. But again, The US had a good opportunity in so-called "Free world" and “Democratic nation” and had the capacity to be a good example, but unfortunately, they waste that opportunity at all levels mentioning few: The US is biggest spender on arms, producing most pollution, consuming most resources, has the biggest amount of outer conflicts with other nations, highest deafest in history, the first in ignoring international and commonsense laws, and yet the only nation to elect a president like G. W. Bush twice in a row… And Yeah, I agree, the only "GOOD" thing we did was not blowing the whole damned place up. Good job. Not Yet! |
