I am sad to report that the state senator who wrote the other bill is the one representing my district. I wrote her a strongly worded letter on why I opposed it and told her she could count on losing my vote next election.

But this is wonderful news. Allowing parents to kill their children through superstition is wrong. I'd like to say that I believe people should be free to make their own choices in life, but it is quite apparent, as this case points out, that many people really are too stupid to be trusted to make all their own decisions - especially when those decisions are on the behalf of innocent children.
