sidegik says: Trivia: clipmarks work with Flock browser and egoldstein is a lawyer. well, i guess technically i may be a lawyer. the full story is that i went to law school (though barely ever attended classes...spent much more time playing video games), then passed the bar exam (no idea how, but i rocked it). the fact that i did so well on the bar exam kind of kicked me in the ass and told me that if i stopped spending most of my time playing games and devoted myself to work, that maybe i could accomplish something meaningful. i had no idea what i wanted to do, but as i stood, there getting sworn in as a lawyer, i became perfectly certain that i didn't want to practice law. so, i went out to lunch to celebrate with my family and promptly told them that was retiring fr... eric, I am very impressed with you. You went to law school, learned the rules for our lives, aced the bar exam, then told your folks you didn't want to practice law. My first thought when I read this is that you didn't want to be part of the slimy world of lawyers. You knew your talents were needed elsewhere. You have succeeded your wildest dreams. Who could ask for anything more? Kudos from an appreciative Clipper. Your parents must be so proud! Damn, I'm proud of you! Clipmarks has been a life-line to me (in the literal sense) at a time when it was so needed. Thank you. so, i went out to lunch to celebrate with my family and promptly told them that was retiring from law that day.egoldstein my first thought ...your family want to "kick your ass". Good success story, it's kind of funny, too. Forget about law maybe i should spend more time playing video games. dorine1722, Ok, i guess we can erase the "slimy" impression. I apologize for the "slimy" remark. I've been burned by lawyers who made me think they were working in my best interests. Cost me plenty in money and disappointment. I haven't had good experiences with them. Only my opinion. Thank you very much for the compliments. To be honest, i couldn't be more surprised that this is what i ended up doing. Mostly, because technology always intimidated me a lot, so i never imagined i'd be a part of creating it. But i really love working on clipmarks more than i could have ever imagined loving a job (unless i achieved my childhood dream of becoming the shortstop of the yankees, but Jeter beat me to it). When it comes to clipmarks, I'm thinking that the best is definitely yet to come...we finally are starting to know what we're doing dorrine1722, i should say "our" impression, we are of the same opinion, but there are always some very sour apples. egoldstein, here is a compliment for clipmarks, it is time consuming and ADDICTING. but i like it. |
