BartendingBear says: No sense to these decisions at all. Absolutely ridiculous. In the military, usually everyone takes showers together and bunks in close quarters. How would you like some gay eyeing you up while you are naked in the shower or how would you like to share a room with him? The wasted $25 million is a shame. They should have found out before they spent the money on him. Wow, homophobia at its finest. jay8h, I worked for years in the Austin, TX restaurant business. I worked side by side with plenty of gay people. We changed clothes in waiter locker rooms in close quarters. Guess what? No one gave a shit. I have a lot of gay friends, I am not freaked out by them and they are not freaked out with me. Let me list some countries that have abolished criminalizing guys for serving their country. Britain, Finland, Israel, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Phillipines,........ and more And guess what! It does not effect the cohesiveness of their military. So they're kicking these guys out of the military, because their peers might feel uncomfortable. So how are typical Americans feeling? Are you feeling comfortable that the US military is wasting money and resources/skills like this, all for the sake that some soldiers might feel squeamish in the showers? I sure wouldn't be feeling very comfortable about that. Shame on Obama for not striking down Don't Ask, Don't Tell. |
