drjamie03 says: Intriguing article. Not enough clipped to do it justice. What an incredibly eloquent article. Being a lesbian, who identified as "gay" while I was married to the male love of my life, (who passed in '98), and who is now partnered with the female love of my life, this article speaks strongly to me. And I must say unequivically that I do not consider myself "Bi". What I believe is that love, sex and gender are mysteries that we have yet to begin to fathom. What I believe is that "gender" is not based on duality, but is still defined within a binary system. There is a gender match out there for everyone. But that's another topic. Sorry. I had to clip the following two passages from the article... although I implore you - read it. Hidd... Can you imagine what a difference it would make if society understood the complexity of sexuality; especially female sexuality? Women wouldn't have to spend an exhausting amount of energy balancing on the tightrope of acceptable sexual behavior--one lean to the right and you are a prude--one to the left and you are a slut. Not all aspects of sexual behavior conform to simple labels. |
