blueridge says: High gas prices were driven by speculators in oil futures, low valuation of dollar, and war fears--NOT BECAUSE OF LIMITED SUPPLY. Making this point again since GOP propagandists were blaming high gas prices on lack of drilling and our "enemies at OPEC". Baloney! This should bring an end to that pack of lies. 1. This is investor driven, (read the analyst in the clip above). 2. The dollar is now regaining strength, which is used in international oil trade. (But the record $10.2 trillion national debt is made of fake printed money, which is inflationary, and still a huge problem). 3. War fears, which drive speculation also, have subsided as the prospect and drumbeat of war with Iran has diminished (for now). Until Israel foments war again. These are the three principle causes of high gas prices, now being reversed. Let the "drill" propagandists for supply as the cause now shut their mouths. You forgot the fact of plain old greed on the part of the oil companies. They acted in collusion and artificially raised the price of gas to increase all their profits. If they didn't, then why hasn't the price of gas gone down to match the lower price of petroleum? Greed; the other White Meat. ...oil companies. They acted in collusion and artificially raised the price of gas to increase all their profits.Let's clarify some things and false accusations based upon mere allegation without evidence: 1. I see no evidence of "collusion" to "artificially raise gas prices". Present some evidence if you can back up that allegation. (The oil companies did however reduce their number of refineries to increase profits, which pinches supply during hurricanes, contributing to price rise). 2. The market speculators trade oil futures and drive up pric... Actually, this price drop began even during a supply problem during the Texas Gulf Coast Hurricane last month! So prices were falling as supply was also reduced. Somehow, I'm not surprised that you thought I was referencing White People in my closing statement. You couldn't possibly be farther from the truth. What that meant is that Greed is the primary staple of the corrupt capitalist system. As for the proof, a committee is in session right now in Canada, and they have uncovered indisputable evidence that the major oil companies have been in collusion for decades, artificially inflating the price of gas. The report has yet to be finalized, but the proof will be there, soon. interesting, please share a link pending |
