I think if I were a man, it would make me physically ill to have a child bride. But I'm not a pedophile. Do these men not have the slightest qualm about having sex with prepubescent girls???

To be fair. The custom you are ascribing to Islam was in place before Islam became a religion. Marriages used to be arranged in most cultures. The happy couple was usually young - about 13 on average. Life was short. You should balance your critique of religion's foibles with a study of anthropology. As an aside, there have been east Asian societies in which young girls literally pick their husbands from the cradle and then actually raise them. By the time the boys are 8, their "wives" are pestering them to perform. Doesn't that just piss you off?

The problem is that we live in the 21st century, not the 6th. I would think we've learned a little along the way in what is harmful and what is beneficial in child rearing practices.

Frankly, I wonder if you are using anthropology to try to justify pedophilia. Maybe I totally misread your comment.

And I see no difference whether the child is male or female. Having sex with children is just not right. Doesn't it piss you off?
