One thing that people often forget.
It takes more intelligence to be poor and survive than to be rich and catered to.
In a crisis (nuclear winter, ice age, technology disaster) the poor will survive where the rich will perish.
Yes its nice to be rich but you have to learn more to be poor and survive.
Education now, is a different story. You don't have to be rich to be smart or wise. But the rich are more likely to be educated on being rich not survival tendancies.

Thats an interesting point, skwirlinator. it takes more intelligence to be poor and survive? it may take more wit, maybe some kind of cleverness,a form of tricking the situation but to assume or surmize that poverty is an advantage in a crisis case such as you describe I think is taking it a bit too far.

The clip subject is really interesting and noteworthy. It reminded me the movie "Gattaca".

On the other hand, at some points, I agree Skwirl. I have never been rich and will never be - this is (frankly) my personal choice. There are many well educated, witty and intellectual persons who choose to live this way. (In fact, "intellectual" also means a person who earns less money - LOL) And I know many wealthy people who are really dumb, ignorant idiots.

The thesis sounds true to me, anyway: not about wit and education but there could be a distinction related to the wealth of ...
