Promulgating the idea of bigoted, separatist thought seems to take up a lot of the energies of the Republicans these days. Of course this has been their bread and butter issue for years. Give us someone to hate and forget about the real issues that plague the common man. They're the first to cry foul over class issues but they certainly have no qualms about using them to instill fear and prejudice if it suits their corporate aims.

If ever the people who say they believe in a God actually did so, what they should do, instead, is just LOVE instead of what they are doing.

The way they react does exactly the opposite of what it should do: Get people to move farther rather than closer!!!

I've found that generally theists prejudice against atheists stems from their inability to fathom how a person could be moral or ethical without the threat of reward or punishment over their heads. To my way of thinking, this viewpoint actually disproves the morality or ethics of believers. I much prefer to believe that a moral person does so because of an empathy toward others and not because of the fear of punishment or the reward of pleasure.
