In it, he discusses the origin of many English words and shows how they relate directly back to to the ancient Egyptian language. Ellis C. Taylor's book <EM>In These Signs Conquer </EM>also got me interested in this fascinating study of the meaning and origin of words. I thought of the meaning of my own name and recalled that before I knew the root word meanings of people's names I used to marvel at how their names fit them so well.<BR />It was hard to believe that parents could know the personality of their child so accurately when it was born so as to to give it the appropriate name.
