masbury says: "Our soil is occupied by Americans and I want them to leave this country. That is my only goal," When foreigners coem into the U.S., we Americans expect them to speak English and to behave as we behave. We should extend that same courtesy to the Afghanistan's. I don't mean become Muslim or take up the Taliban fight, I mean show the same respect we would expect from them here in America. Our military leaders in Afghanistan have let us all down in this regard. Americans need to remember; in Afghanistan, and in Iraq, they are Invaders. They sent soldiers into sovereign nations for the purpose of overthrowing their governments. The idea that they would be welcomed as liberators is a load of bull. At best, they would be reluctantly accepted as perhaps the lesser of two evils; depending entirely on how the representatives of America they see — the soldiers — treat them. And it's painfully obvious that there have been far too many cases where the occupying soldiers have been treating the indigenous people very badly. Americans aren't heroes to those people; they're bad-tasting medicine. Well said! |
