Is it something George Orwell would have liked to include in his 1984? Perhaps common sense and justice are two different things! In many respects, our own society has not been much better. People serve out full sentences for sex and drug convictions long after the laws have been liberalized. Their cases are not reviewed as judicial decisions cannot be second guessed. What is commonly referred to as statutory rape is, in fact, a legally trumped-up rape charge. To date, thousands of teenage boys have been imprisoned for the crime of having sex with girls their own age.
