I think this is the only true answer to education reform.

Amen to that. It will never happen though. Public education has become big business and entrenched in Washington. Our children aren't getting a decent education though I see many dedicated teachers who are, individually, working hard. It's the PC, the long hours of idle time, the shift from parental participation to a daycare-type environment. For our older children, schools have become a hotbed of hormones gone wild, full of failures to deal with *problem* kids, setting up a cookie-cutter agenda for success. They can't lay the blame at the feet of race, lack of money, large classroom size, low pay for teachers, etc....it's the culture itself.
