A couple of things come to mind:
1. Since we can't stop the war we might as well enjoy it's interesting twists and turns.
2. The USA politicians and TV Talking Heads act as if they are God and omnipotently declaring: 'Let's take out Iran." -- "Not an invasion but surgical strikes," etc. -- but there are other forces and factors involved
3. Much like Vietnam the war may finally end by the North Vietnamese army overrunning Saigon in 1975 and that was when finally the last USA troops were out.

It seems when an enemy has invaded one of your outposts or cities it doesn't take as long to get out as current politicians suggest.

So now we are bombarded with all the claims and complaints of Iran 'killing Americans,' (or having nuclear weapons)...soon we can have a Turkish invasion. The terrorist and anti-American forces in Saudia Arabia will keep pouring in funds...Israel can come in and blow something up.

The fun has just begun.

Meanwhile, the USA can control it's own borders

I believe you meant we CAN`T control our borders.

Seems were headed towards a slippery slope. And we may already be past the point of no return.

Yes..sorry: I did mean to say "The USA can't control it's own borders."

Not very well explained -- I rate this as my 'worst explained,' clip -- but one of the simmering annoyances about all the false words about Iraq is when the USA complains about weapons or whatever coming across the border from Iran, Syria, or Jordon, etc....when we can't even control our own borders and know it.

It's like one of the tangent arguments to invade
Afghanistan was how the were big opium producers and that was another reason the Taliban was evil.

But now that we are there I've heard Afghanistan now produces MORE opium...

Oh my...just one false excuse after another.

I do not understand all the problems a...

The Turks sought permission from the Iraqi government to pursue Kurdish fighters into Iraqi territory. This was denied. The US wants stability in northern Iraq where there is a degree of Kurdish autonomy. The Turkish-Kurd situation has been going on for many years. The best known Kurdish militia is the PKK who killed 13 Turkish soldiers a few days ago.The Kurdish region is in Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria. The history of these people who claim they were promised an independent Kurdistan by the Allies after the break-up of the Ottoman Empire after WW1 into such nations as Iraq and Iran is important and a factor in the Iraqi and regional futures.
In the current situation, the Turkish government...

"Despite the wishes of it's military?"

Humm...another false promise of Independence...

There is a Very Strange resolution to be voted on today in the USA Congress, seeking to document genocide by the Turks against the Armenians -- a hundred years ago.

Why now?
