When you represent interests other than your own, you watch what symbols and icons you display. Just because the same old 'game' is now transposed to an internet world doesn't make for a new reason for fear of "the machine." If your bar servers started wearing t-shirts for your bar that also said vote republican, wouldn't you have something to say about it? Not if it was outside the job. If you are using face book, why would you ever be surprised that something like this could happen? Numerous people have run into trouble because they "publish" all kinds of very personal information online. Employers search FaceBook and MySpace seeing info on job applicants. College students get busted when university security or police get a hold of incriminating photos. |
