Another person of authority sexually abusing underage kids.

Is it just me, or are there many more pedophiles and sexual predators around out there today than say, 20 years ago? It seems, not a day goes by without hearing about some doctor or teacher or priest or coach who has abused some poor kid. I heard a rumour somewhere that supposedly one in ten males is a pedophile. That number is horrifically high I reckon and I sure hope it's an exaggeration. Is it just because we hear about it more today or could it be "something in the water" like with the rise of autism or infertility? That there's something in our environment creating these "unfortunate" people? I must be so worrying for those with little kids out in the world today.

Good questions, thisname. I've wondered the same things. When I was growing up, there was the weirdo in the neighborhood we all stayed away from. Don't know if he was a threat.

I knew a real old man who was so nice to everybody. Then an old woman told me he had raped her when she was 11!

We're probably just hearing more about this. Since Adam Walsh was kidnapped and murdered, John Walsh has made sure we know this is going on. Sure does seem like there's a lot of peds these days.
We moved into a "nice" neighborhood a few years ago, and found 3 sex offenders within 3 block radius. None of them were registered. We left as soon as we could.

I pray for everyone who has been abused.
