OBX is about 4 hours from Raleigh and Myrtle would be my last choice (about 3 - 4 hours away).</p> <P></p> <P>The most upscale beach in NC would be Bald Head Island, which is near the Wilmington area. The island is only accesible by ferry and no cars are allowed on the island, golf carts only. Good for people looking for the upscale atmoshphere, quaint town, and total relaxation. </p> <P></p> <P></p> <P></p> <P>OBX because it has a little of everything. Great family beach, with upscale areas, and more economical areas. Lots more to do and see. Much bigger area. </p> <P></p> <P></p> <P></p> <P><A href="http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g54359-Myrtle_Beach_South_Carolina-Vacations.html" class="internal auto">Myrtle Beach</A>, again a family place, that is very touristy. Not what I consider to be upscale. Lots of shopping, shows, and things like that.
