Don't blame you at all, they are an extremely beautiful fish.

I had a beautiful blue one that I put in a large vase and set it in the middle of our table. He was the center of our attention and conversation during lunch with the grandchildren. Of course, he would bow up and show us his beauty. They are very easy to care for; just don't put two together!!

The first pet my husband and I ever shared was a betta. We named him Confucius because we decided it was a great thinker, since it had plenty of time to swim around and ponder the world. Confucius survived three moves in two years...but the day we got a dog - he moved on to the big fish bowl in the sky. I think he felt replaced.
