Silkweaver says:
These are being computerised with the gene mix indicating what the ratio will be between these various facial features. It allows the computer to build up an image of a face based only on the gene mix found in the DNA. He indicated that “maybe 500 facial markers and 500 ancestry markers” would be enough to build an accurate and complete face.

Next step will probably be reconstructing the whole person Imagine, instead of catching a criminal, the police can reconstruct one and bring him/her to justness.
Could you imagine such an ultimate efficiency of law enforcement?

I think eventually this will lead to genetic medical diagnosis and in a darker future, human gene manipulation like in the movie Blade Runner.

I wonder if this type of DNA analysis could possibly help identify a few John/Jane Does across the country, or come up with more accurate age-progression photos, for missing children.

darkduskx: Gene manipulation certainly lies in our future, but this future is not necessarily dark. It will help to eliminate genetic diseases, aging and later perhaps will greatly enhance human capabilities. In some not so far future we will think about it as we think about contact lenses, or plastic surgery.

All I'm saying is just as good things come with the new, so do the bad things.

Just being realistic here.
