enbar says: Highlight a snippet of content from a page and this Firefox extension will send it to Twitter for you. Diigo can also do this. Seems like a natural extension for Clipmarks. Funny you should mention that Once you've got it set up, anything you clip will automatically be sent to your twitter buddies. You can also limit it to a specific tag if you choose by using that specific RSS feed. If you just want to twitter a single clip, we've also added "Twit this" under the share button. Sharing clips with your friends is the whole idea, so twitter was a natural place for us to integrate - let me know if you have any trouble with it. Excellent. These are great options. In fact I've been using a tag to syndicate my clips to Twitter for some time. But Twitterfeed is a little unreliable lately, not sure what's up with that service. I-Lighter seems to be conceiving of this tool a little differently: highlight a snippet (a sentence or so, presumably), click a button, and the URL and the clip get sent directly to Twitter. Basically, it's the "Twit This" bookmarklet plus a tiny text highlight. The Clipmarks method has more steps but is more versatile. One other thing -- what punctuation marks can you use in tags? For a while, I was using the tag post:twitter to send items to Twitter, then I started using post:twitte[b]... I do not think my twitter friends want that much bacon. |
