What is the definition of God?

A trick question, Wilhelm? God cannot be defined--if you try, you diminish and insult Him/Her/It...and that's one point of the essay, if you read it beyond the clip. A lot of fools have tried to conceptualize that which cannot be conceived.

So, then, your definition is an infinite being that cannot be conceived, because infinite concepts cannot be proven or disproved.

Pretty good definition. Now apply that to what you read in the piece you clipped.

I didn't make a definition, did I? What's your point about the essay? I just liked it, that's all--it was well thought out but ultimately defines nothing...'CUZ IT CAN'T BE DEFINED! Sorry, didn't men to yell. But don't put words in my fingers. So to speak...er...write.

For instance, i liked this part:

" Arthur C. Clarke said that any sufficiently advanced technology was indistinguishable from magic. I propose that any sufficiently powerful entity is approximately God. I personally cannot discern if God is evolving the universe or if the universe is evolving into God. I don't suppose it makes a whole lot of difference, in any practical sense, but one is curious."
See how futile a definition is? Approximately God? OK....
