I think the new tea party tagline should be "If you’re kidding, I’m not laughing. If you’re serious, I’m getting my gun."

There was an incident here in Portland when a burglar was breaking and entering into an elderly couples home
in the early morning.
Fortunately the husband told his wife to call the police, meanwhile he encountered the burglar inside the kitchen and held him until the police arrived. He is a veteran.

Better to have a firearm and not need it, than to need one
and not have it.
