Stick insects are such impressive masters of the art of camouflage.

When living in Central Australia I asked about the stick insects that were 20-30 cms long. The Aborigines didn't hurt them because they would hurt you back. Not physically. I didn't test the theory, couldn't hurt one of them. The kids steered a wide berth though.

super-sized insect, it is thought it probably lives in the canopy of the 
rainforest, making it especially hard to find. In addition to its size, its eggs 
may also be unique in the insect world. Each egg capsule has wing-like 
extensions on either side like a miniature golden snitch (the flying sports ball 
in the Harry Potter books), allowing them to drift in the wind when the female
