Shy can be a natural born characteristic or it can be as a result of ostracization due to less appealing traits such as being a "strange bird" or sociopathic.

Shyness is not sociopathic and I disagree with this article. Va Tech killer may have been "shy" but I think all signs point toward being a sociopath. I think shy people are already ostracized enough without comparing them to "the verge of sociopathy."

..not an issue at all...down the line in a few years, some other scientist will refute this fact with his own research, and that will be refuted by another scientist...and this will go on....this is what is happening in every other scientific field as well...

I think they are desperate to find a reason for so many of the school killings.

my guess is that it is the climate of fear that causes crime anywhere.

The thing is violence is so popular on the t.v or in computer games or in the movies surely it has an affect on how people cope.
