I a web poll is a far better way of finding out what people are thinking, than believing what politicians tell us.

When I have made the mistake of turning on the news, I usually hear some result of some poll taken of Americans. Who are the poll takers? Who are these Americans being polled? Where are they at?? It seems to me that the political poll takers keep polling the same 100 people that the Family Feud polls for its game show. I've also noticed that the polling questions are *very* poorly worded. I don't know if that's because they really are badly worded on the poll itself, or whether the news station has condensed the question into a news-bite-sized piece.

Part of the problem with polls is anonymity and biased wording to sway the results. For polling to be meaningful to the nation these problems will need to be overcome.

It had occurred to me that there , could be loaded polls, with vested interests, using proxies, or fake IP addresses, but maybe there will be ways developed to counter this. There could be cross poll checks, and ways that could develop with technological advance. Details of web usage patterns could help verify, or put a poll into context. How people are going to explain what they want is going to have more detail than a simple poll or vote. Using a wide an information base to make government decisions as possible. It's got to be better than what we have at the moment

That's another thing-re loaded questions What happens if you don't like any of the multiple choices the kind of poll that can seem like a choice, but has four different ways of saying the same thing. The first question got me with a classic example of lack of information.
Do you think Saudi Arabia is a terrorist Nation ?
I'll answer that question when someone can give me a definition of terrorism.
