4D ultrasounds can show movement of the foetus, developing features from early stages. Early growth can be seen in a new light. The inception of consciousness is more difficult to pinpoint. The development of consciousness may be a gradual acquisition of sensory information, and subsequent associated perspective, that does not stop until we die, perhaps beyond. The difference between a foetus and an the old may just be experience.

I watched the 4D special "In the Womb." At about 12 weeks, I became uncomfortable with the idea of abortion given the development of the fetus.
