I am a sexual abuse victim I am strongly opposed to the death penalty. Too many innocence people are executed. Besides, especially here in the state of Texas, the death penalty is used way too loosely. Hell in the state of Texas it doesn't take much for us to feel it is our God given right to hangin & hangin HIGH!!

Obama is correct here, but given that he is agreeing with such a large majority of Americans, it is hard to not be skeptical that this is truly his position.

I also oppose the death penalty, though my mind could be changed. However, our personal circumstances or opinions are irrelevant in the context of the constitutionality of the death penalty for child rapists. If there is ever a case that shows the Liberals on the court are ruling in regard to politics rather than the constitution, then this is it.
