So, it's lightning outside here in NJ and i was just going to take a shower. remembered being told that it's dangerous to shower while it's lightning...wasn't sure, so looked it up. Figured this would be good info for others to know, so Amplify'd it...

While in High School my first boyfriend's sister was killed while in the shower during a thunderstorm. Yes! It is very possible.

Yikes! Never heard of such. I have, however, wondered why we don't see tons of dead fish when lightning hits lakes, rivers, and seas..

My friend in high school was struck by lightning in the shower. she had a big star-shaped burn on her hip and developed allergies. Weird, huh?

Lightning can travel over the surface of the ground and through the ground. The ground surface can be lethal for up to 60 feet radius or more from the point of contact. This also includes a ground rod as the point of contact. In water, the lethal radius is about 600 feet from point of contact.

Don't use a wire connected landline phone during a storm, either. The link merrie provided comments that indoors a wireless phone is OK, but not surprisingly a cell phone outdoors is very dangerous, too.
