Djiezes, have you read this?

I find it so interesting that the CoS is structured so much like a military organization. Beyond the obvious stuff, they have all of these procedures and acronyms for everything. It must account for how well the organization is run, especially since it is so massive now. I think it also helps control members more tightly.

Yeah I did, I'm a bit on a clipping frenzy right now (and the coming days), because I'm trying to build up a library on interesting Scientology articles. And I made it public since someone else might be interested too. I'll be reclipping some older "privatized" clips too.
Look out for the Scientology collection here:

The strict procedures & terminology are mainly a product of Hubbard strict hierarchical control over the organization.

It works.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

I have ambivalent thoughts about all of this, due to the connection to science fiction and other popular culture.
BTW, here is the website for the group started by L. Ron Hubbard in 1983.

In sci-fi, Ron Hubbard once wallowed,
And he wondered how much could be swallowed.
Earn more than a smidgen:
Invent a religion!
His Church — Scientology — followed.
