We do not enjoy the situations overseas and do not "Wish" to stay there but it is a necessary evil to keep the ones we love safe and to protect our country which is our charge and oath! that is our job. maybe if the army thought about trying to recruit people of character and not just take anyone no matter who they are, you would meet some people who have the faith and the devotion that my unit has.

I think soldiers are woefully taken advantage of by politicians. Politicians have promoted several arguments that good people have bought into, that can't be shown to be true.

I regret saying it, but almost no US military action since WW2 has been related to keeping loved ones safe or protecting our country. The USA has almost never been under direct threat. Soldiers have been sent to fight and die often because American business wanted unblocked access to nations. I feel like you and your faithful colleagues have been robbed, and will bear a liftetime of scars from it.
