I often feel that people go to "worry" way too quickly when reacting to issues and decisions in their lives. I don't find it to be a productive emotion as it clutters your judgment and ability to think rationally. I used to be a worrier, but then I heard about Getting Things Done and I can now sleep at night. Worry easily becomes a habit. The only way to break a habit is to replace it with another activity. I don't believe that worry is useful so when I begin to worry I consciously stop myself and make myself start mentally listing things that have gone well today (this week, this lifetime, whatever.) It feels silly sometimes and remembering to catch myself is hard--- but it's making a difference. Don't accept wasting your finite energy on worthless activity -- change the worry habit into something positive. Sohil, I wrote the book on worry! And Love The Bomb It's easy to say than to do.I am used to worrying all the time, just because sometimes I don't know how to confront the changes What's helped me is learning to say "screw this!", "screw them!", etc. Strange, but true. |
