wildcat says: important And I've read where scientists agree global warming is happening, but don't agree it is caused by human activity. I'm trying to read as much of this as I can, all views. But who are we suppose to agree with? The loudest voice? The most persistent? I've also read that the theory of human activity causing global warming has not gone through the 3rd step of scientific method. To devise a test to prove or disprove the theory. Without proof, there is no scientific truth. very! Please see my comment below the article. jealex2@gmail.com Live life to it's fullest and forget fear mongering. We get enough of that from the White House! Regardless of whether the earth has gone through heating and cooling cycles, it is also true that there has been a buildup of green house gases. If my energy can be produced cleanly through solar, wind, geothermal, capturing kinetic energy from waves, or switch grass ethanol, why wouldn't I prefer it over oil and coal. Conservatives always claim our economy is dynamic so why would I care whether the profits go to an oilman (discounting our nations dependency on foreign suppliers) or a producer of solar panels? Cleaner air is enough of a reason. People need too much energy to stop using oil, gas and coal. And most people, even among those concerned about global warming, would hate consuming less than they do now. And those IPCC "scientists" are not an exception. Right out of the mouths of the oil companies. You make a statement but with no supporting facts. This is a common myth. I watched a debate between Sen. Harry Reid (D) and Sen, Kyle (R). They debated whether the US could supply all it's power needs with solar and the debate ended with Sen. Kyle acknowledging that we could but that he didn't want those ugly mirrors in his state. A solar facility the size of the US air base in Nevada would do it (without any other energy sources!). Don't tell me we have to use oil! Did I say people have to use oil? I am just saying people will use oil and gas more and more. I cannot figure why there is such a disregard of science by scientists. None of these scientist presents a scientific fact, just rhetoric. All the global warming faithful bow at the alter of rhetoric, but when science is presented it is disregarded as based on bias. I am so glad most scientists are abandoning this garbage. To continue to deny the science is the height of ignorance. But as the flat earthers like wildcat and djiezes agree....important? What is important is those that endure ridicule, hate, bigotry and professional blacklisting for standing up for what is scientifically valid against pretenders. Such is our age of stupidity and pseudo-science. |
