zephyrgong says: These photos is not taken by me but a chinese friend. You can find some more photos through the original link. As he said, there're one kind of people, living in their own world,be happy with their belief.Sometimes we couldn't understand their happyness--how they enjoy themselves in such circumstances?as they couldn't understand our sadness.Besides prosperity of cities, what we left?We come to city, with our dreams, with our ambition, but now we may lose ourselves in city life... I'd like a trip there in the future. You're a poet, Mr. Gong I'm not,my friend is,Mr.Daniel ZG - What is the general opinion of Chinese in your area regarding the Tibetans? We have read what the Chinese gov't believes. Also what is wrong with Falon Gong (the religon the gov't opposes?) Is it the religous aspect - the mediation aspect? It confuses me, since what I have read - the actual practice is much like budism or even some martial arts. It is obviously known that many hundred years ago - martial arts and weapons had been outlawed. So all this seems simiilar to today. Just curious what people in a country think/feel as opposed to what we here gov't speak. No, your friend is a photographer, you are the poet, Mr. Gong Mowery,I think Tibet is a mysterious place even for most of chinese. Our government said that Tibet is a part of China, and Dali Lama is a betrayer.I think now that most chinese people have the same view with government(maybe influenced by government, whatever, the result is). But generally,we dont think a lot about that.Tibet is just a mysterious and beautiful place for us.and about Tibetans, there're two opinions among chinese people.one is,they're very kind, honest, hospitable and passionate. The other is,they're barbarian, dangerous, they may injure you just because of a argument. And about Falon Gong, all I know is our government opinion,as you knew it.I dont know much about it. zephyrgong, thank you for sharing your perspective. i imagine it takes lots of courage for you to do so. i can't fathom the sadness of living within the confines of fear that you are forced to endure. i pray that the internet can somehow be used to break down the wall that contains the chinese people. when you get a chance, check out this web site http://greatfirewallofchina.com/. we have it to showcase clipmarks with the tag "great firewall of china". hopefully it will become a powerful resource for people to become inspired to do more to force change in china. |
