jasontromm says: The same thing happened in the sixties when Kennedy was elected. A lot of people worried about his Catholic roots and wondered if the country would be ruled by the Pope in Rome. I have to disagree that all three have enough experience. Barack and Hillary have no experience in the executive branch of government. Romney, as former governor of Mass. has the most experience. I was raised as an Evangelical Apocalytic Fundamentalist Baptist (no longer any of those things), and I can verify the fact that many such people will never vote for a Mormon. Fear and hatred of Mormons is even greater than that against Catholics and Jews. "Mormonism" is often spoken of as a satanic sect rather than a branch of Christianity. Most of this hatred stems from the origin of the Book of Mormon, plus of course the polygamy thing. I never have been able to figure out that whole golden tablets presented by the angel Moroni that were miraculously taken back up into heaven. That of course explains the fact that there is absolutely no archaeological evidence to support their case. |
